King County and Seattle Public Utilities are offering two free evening workshops on crafting healthy and low maintenance landscapes. These workshops provide the perfect opportunity to learn how to create a healthier landscape for both people and local critters.

The workshops will supply invaluable lessons on how to improve soil, shrink lawns and reduce the amount of time and energy spent on yard work. Attendees will also learn how to make their yards better places for birds and other wildlife by using native plants. To register, call 206-386-4162 or e-mail creekstewardintern@seattle.gov. Space is limited so reserve your spot now!

Workshops will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the following locations:

Wednesday, November 16, 2005 Chief Kanim Middle School, 32627 S.E. Redmond –Fall City Rd., Fall City

Participants who attend either of these workshops automatically become eligible to travel to a development site on Saturday, November 19 to remove native plants for their own personal naturescaping projects.
