King County Parks are a great source for fun over the three-day weekend. Check out these upcoming events!

Volunteer Events


May 28

  • King County Greenhouse – Maple Valley 9 a.m. to 3 pm.

    Join others potting native trees at the King County Greenhouse. The native trees will be used throughout King County Parks for habitat improvements and restoration projects. For all volunteer opportunities and events please contact Tina Miller, 206-296-2990 or tina.miller@kingcounty.gov.

May 28

Cougar Mt. Red Town Meadow – Newcastle 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This restoration project is sponsored by King County and WNPS. Enjoy the forest walk, the beautiful setting, and the feeling of accomplishment that comes with doing good work in a wildland community by clearing "invasive exotic plants" (weeds), moving soil, growing native plants from seed, and planting native meadow plants.

May 27 to 29

Girl’s State High School Water Polo Championships

o May 27 – 2:00 p.m. to 8 p.m.
o May 28 – 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
o May 29 – 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Girl’s Water Polo Championships feature the top high school competitors in the state. There is a spectator fee for the event. For more information on Aquatic Center events please contact mike.dunwiddie@kingcounty.gov or 206-296-4547.
