Looking for weekend plans? There's plenty to do in King County over the next two weekends! Here are brief descriptions on upcoming events:

Volunteer Events

May 7

  • King County Greenhouse - Maple Valley 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Join others potting native trees at the King County Greenhouse. The native trees will be used throughout King County Parks for habitat improvement and restoration projects. This is a great activity for all ages!

May 14

  • Cavanaugh Pond – Renton 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    This project is helping to restore the streamside habitat for fish and wildlife at Cavanaugh Pond along the Cedar River.

King County Fairgrounds

May 7

  • Muddy Pars 4-H Qualifying Match 9 a.m.to 4 p.m.

    Local 4-H participants will be competing in the preliminary event for the King County Fair.

  • Trailblazers 4-H Horse Show 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pinnacle Park-Enumclaw

May 7

  • Time Hike at Mt. Peak

    Join others at the fun run Pinnacle Park event Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information please contact Dawna Smith, 360-825-5593.

Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center

May 14 to 15

May Flowers Swimming Invitational 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This annual event is co-hosted by USA Swimming clubs, South Sound Titans (Sumner) and Washington Aquatic Killer Orcas (Tacoma). More than thirty teams will be attending from Washington and Oregon with athletes competing by age and gender. Competition will begin Saturday evening and continue on Sunday. Spectator admission is free and carpooling is recommended.
