Find out about new invaders that could be the next worst weeds
if we don't stop them now. King County is offering a free
'Noxious Weed' workshop in Maple Valley on Monday,
June 27 that will teach participants how to identify and
manage invasive weeds on their properties.
Noxious weed expert Sasha Shaw will teach about common and uncommon
weeds with a slide show and a live weed show and tell. The workshop
will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maple Valley Library,
21844 SE 248th Street, Maple Valley.
The next noxious weed workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 13
at Meadowbrook Farm Interpretive Center from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30
p.m. There will also be a workshop on Vashon in mid-July.
Space for the workshops is limited, so reserve your spot now. To

The King County Noxious Weed Program works with public agencies
and private landowners to reduce the impacts of noxious weeds on
the environment, recreation, public health and economic resources
of the county. In 2004, program staff worked with more than 3,500
property owners and land managers and achieved control of noxious
weeds on more than 5,100 properties. To find out more about the
