Some highlights for this coming weekend include a performance by
Garrison Keillor and the Flying Wheels Bicycle race. Check out all

- Flying Wheels Bicycle race. Start Line is located at Marymoor
Park at the Group Health Velodrome, Redmond.
Registration opens:
8 a.m. for 100-mile riders
9 a.m. for 70- and 50-mile riders
10 a.m. for 25-mile riders
Start line opens:
8 a.m. to 9 a.m. - Start Line Open for 100 mile riders
9 a.m. to 10 a.m. - Start Line Open for 50/70 mile riders
10 a.m. to 11 a.m. - Start Line Open for 25 mile riders
11 a.m. - Start Line Close
Get out of the city and enjoy some of Puget Sound's finest
rural riding on the largest century in Washington State! For

Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center
June 18
- Annual Flag Day – King County Aquatic Center 10 a.m.
to noon.
Soroptomists International of Federal Way will be hosting the
15th annual Flag Day Ceremony on the grounds of the King County
Aquatic Center June 18th, 10 a.m.-noon. Admission is free. Hotdogs
and refreshments will be sold by Federal Way Lions. For more

Volunteer Events
June 25
- Cougar Mt. Red Town Meadow – Newcastle 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This restoration project is sponsored by King County and WNPS.
Enjoy the forest walk, the beautiful setting, and the feeling
of accomplishment that comes with doing good work in a wildland
community by clearing "invasive exotic plants" (weeds),
moving soil, growing native plants from seed, and planting native
meadow plants.
King County manages 25,389 acres of parks, pools, open space,
natural land and trails. This includes 68 baseball fields, 61 soccer
fields, four pools, 88 picnic areas, 34 playgrounds, 27 tennis courts,
13 boat launch sites, more than 175 miles of trails, six fishing
piers, four community gardens, a climbing rock, the area's best
off leash dog park and the world class Weyerhaeuser King County
Aquatic Center.
