Relax this weekend and the next with King County Parks’ activities. Some upcoming activities include the 143rd annual King County Fair and the Red Town Meadow Project. Check out all the fun activities available:

King County Fairgrounds

July 20-24

  • King County Fair – Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    Spend time with family and friends at the King County Fair, the oldest fair west of the Mississippi! Free concerts and $1 root beer floats all day long!

July 29-31

  • 59th annual Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering.

    Friday, July 29, 6:45 p.m. – 10 p.m.
    Saturday, July 30, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
    Sunday, July 31, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

    These dancers compete locally, nationally and internationally at competitions and Highland Games throughout the year.

Cougar Mountain

July 23

  • Red Town Meadow Project - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    This restoration project is sponsored by King County and WNPS. Enjoy the forest walk, the beautiful setting, and the feeling of accomplishment that comes with doing good work in a wildland community by clearing "invasive exotic plants" (weeds), moving soil, growing native plants from seed, and planting native meadow plants. July 28-31

  • Pacific Northwest Long Course Swimming Championship

    Thursday, July 28

    Some of the brightest stars will be competing at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., the culmination of a season’s worth of hard work, early mornings and countless sacrifices will be put to the test for an exciting competition.


Marymoor Park Concert Series

July 22

  • Poco: Pure Prairie League, 7 p.m.

    Poco’s well-deserved reputation for fun and entertaining live performances has long been a staple of the band’s legacy. Their more than 30-year career was kicked off by their first album Pickin’ Up the Pieces which remains heralded as a trendsetter. King County manages 25,389 acres of parks, pools, open space, natural land and trails. This includes 68 baseball fields, 61 soccer fields, four pools, 88 picnic areas, 34 playgrounds, 27 tennis courts, 13 boat launch sites, more than 175 miles of trails, six fishing piers, four community gardens, a climbing rock, the area's best off leash dog park and the world class Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
