Feb. 25, 2005 Small Farm Expo on March 19 puts tools for success in the hands of small acreage landowners

The 4th annual  Small Farm Expo for Puget Sound-area small acreage
farmers and rural landowners is set Saturday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to
3 p.m. at the King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw. Admission is free.
This one-of-a-kind local event provides a casual and enjoyable day to
learn about livestock and crop production, land management, and
landscaping for rural acreages.
This year's Expo
includes a composting workshop with Andy Bary, WSU Soil Scientist, and
a chainsaw safety and maintenance workshop taught by Tim Curran of
Stihl Northwest that will cover basic chainsaw operation safety,
equipment and saw maintenance. This is a Hands-on Workshop so please
BRING YOUR SAW as well as any basic tools that came with it. Register

Additional highlights include:
- renowned gardener Marianne Binetti and sustainable farmer Henning Sehmsdorf.
- a
wool spinner's circle, antique tractor display, yaks, turkeys, highland
cattle, llamas, alpacas, pigs, goats and horseshoeing demonstration
- amazing animal demonstrations of goat harnessing,
Argus Ranch dog agility, pony driving, sheep herding, and Dr. Jason
Henke, a local horse chiropractor
- 4-H horse, dog, and rabbit shows and 4-H public presentations
- delicious concessions provided by New York Catering and Mt. Rainier Espresso
Small
