Small Farm Expo provides local businesses the opportunity to connect with small-acreage landowners

2005 Archived News

Local businesses and organizations that provide products or services to small-acreage landowners are invited to reserve a booth space now for the 4th annual Small Farm Expo, which will take place on Saturday, March 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw. A nominal fee is charged.

Last year's Expo brought more than 1,000 small farmers and rural landowners to the fairgrounds to get the most current information on livestock, crop and resource technologies, and land management. This year's Expo has expanded to include workshops on composting techniques and chainsaw safety and maintenance in addition to a speaker presentation schedule that includes Henning Sehmsdorf and Marianne Binetti.

The WSU King County Extension Exhibit Hall will feature vendors and agencies that provide resources to small-acreage landowners. Hurry and reserve a booth now, before space runs out by calling Hannah Cavendish-Palmer at 206-205-3206! More information about the Small Farm Expo is available at www.metrokc.gov/wsu-ce/farmexpo.

The event is sponsored by WSU King County Extension, King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, From the Heart of Washington, Kiwi Fencing, and King and Pierce Conservation Districts. Reasonable accommodations are available to people with disabilities upon advance request by calling Laurie Clinton, King County Water and Land Resources Division, 206-296-1471 or TTY 800-833-6388.
