Come on out to the farm! Harvest Celebration returns to King County on October 1

2005 Archived News

Take the King County Harvest Celebration Farm Tour and see where your milk and veggies come from! The farm tour returns for its 7th year as an opportunity for King County residents to learn about their local food system.

Twenty-six working farms from around the county will open their gates and invite the public to come walk their fields, buy fresh produce and pumpkins, meet farm animals, talk to farmers, enjoy a family hay ride, run through a corn maze and much, much more. This year's farm tour will also include ten additional agricultural sites featuring historic barns and farm-related festivals and markets.

The farm tour guide will be featured in the September 14th issue of the Seattle Weekly. Farm tour guides will also be available at farmers markets around the Puget Sound and Seattle and King County Public Libraries during the month of September.

Saturday, October 1st, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. on 30 farms around King County.

Admission is free. For more information call, 206-205-3206; or visit www.metrokc.gov/wsu-ce/farmtour.
