County residents can bring their household wastes to the three-day
Wastemobile event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 26-28, from
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Wastemobile will be located at the Sears,
SeaTac Mall, 1701 S. 320th St. at the southwest corner of the parking
lot on Pacific Highway South and South 324th St.
This
marks the 15th year of King County;s Wastemobile service. When the
program started in 1989 it was the first in the nation. Since that
time, the program has served 270,000 customers and collected 24 million
pounds of household hazardous waste. The program currently serves 26
cities and recycles or reuses 98 percent of collected waste.
King
County;s Hazardous Wastemobile accepts pesticides, chlorine bleach,
paint products, automotive products (oil, antifreeze, auto batteries,
etc.) and other household hazardous items free of charge. By properly
disposing of these materials and keeping them out of drains and
garbage, you are helping safeguard your family;s health and the
environment.
