King County program cleans up publicly owned properties

2004 Archived News

Does your neighborhood have a problem with litter and illegal dumping on public property?

If so, King County’s Solid Waste Division (SWD) can help.

Since 1998, the SWD’s Community Litter Cleanup Program has funded some 430 clean up efforts on publicly owned parcels. Any city, county, state or federally owned property located inside King County, but outside Seattle city limits, is eligible.

To report a problem litter area on public property, call SWD at 206-296-4466; 711(TTY Relay) or click here to view a PDF form.

You can print out a copy of the site information form and send the completed form to: King County Solid Waste Division, ATTN: Morgan John, 201 S. Jackson St., Suite 701, Seattle, WA 98104. Or, email the completed form to morgan.john@kingcounty.gov.

The site will then be assessed for eligibility and a clean up will be scheduled as soon as possible.

King County's Community Litter Cleanup Program is funded by the Washington state Department of Ecology, working in partnership with the Washington State Department of Corrections and the non-profit organization Friends of the Trail.

For more information on this program, contact Morgan John at 206-296-8443; 711(TTY Relay).
