Earth Day 2010 photos Releasing kokanee fry in Ebright CreekOn April 21, 2010 the Kokanee Work Group celebrated Earth Day (eve) by releasing the last 200 kokanee fry from the first successful year of our emergency supplementation program. Joined by King County Executive Dow Constantine, Work Group members gathered in the forest at stalwart kokanee advocate Wally Pereyra’s house, shared some perspective on what this release means for kokanee and their recovery, and then placed the fry in the creek. Afterward, the gathering was treated to Ilene Stahl’s legendary kokanee cookies, with fry cookies an appropriate addition this year, and to drumming by Snoqualmie Tribe members.
