Background

The Community Mitigation and Recovery team created the Community Navigator program due to the rising COVID-19 cases within communities of color. Community navigators are a group of trusted community messengers representing the hardest impacted communities by COVID-19 and many of these communities also have the lowest vaccination rates.

Community Navigators are community leaders that influence the development of culturally-appropriate communications and disseminate public health information to institutionally marginalized communities. The existing scope of work include attending meetings with Public Health staff, resource navigation, community engagement, and raising high level community concerns to their project monitors. Successful applicants selected through this process will receive contracts with PHSKC for the contract period of January 1, 2024 through May 31, 2024. Future funding is contingent on performance and funding availability.

Pre-application conference

Public Health – Seattle & King County will not conduct a pre-proposal conference for this RFA. For questions, please email Kishan Scipio, Contract Specialist, at cpres-ODIR@kingcounty.gov
