My Giving FAQs

These Q & As should help answer some of your questions about online pledging.  If not please email employeegiving@kingcounty.gov for more help.

Agency Code Questions

What is the Agency Number and where do I find it?

The Agency Number is a unique four digit code assigned to all of the nonprofits in the program. You can find it in the catalog, on the website under nonprofits, or in the search box at the bottom of the My Giving pledging page.

How do you use the Agency Number Look-up box at the bottom of the page?

Type a key word from the NAME of a nonprofit organization you are a looking for.  The fewer words the better results because it will look for exactly what you type in. For example, if you typed in the word "humane" you might get Seattle Humane Society and The Humane Society of the United States. Where as if you just typed in "The Humane Society" you would only get The Humane Society of the United States.

Once you type in the keyword press the ENTER key on your keyboard.  DO NOT hit the continue button. That takes you to your summary screen.

If your search gives you more than 1 result, you can click on VIEW ALL to see all results.

Why doesn't my Agency Number from last year work?

There are two reasons: Either your nonprofit has changed its "status" and has a new number (probably 20 of the 700 are affected by this) or they are not in the program this year.

My Giving Misc Questions

I got my first nonprofit entered in My Giving, how do I add another one?

There is a Plus + sign on the right hand side of the nonprofit line.  Click on it to add another agency.  You may give to a total of 6 for payroll deduction.

I might have clicked Continue and Confirm before I was really done, how do I get it back?

Call 206.263.9405 or email the EGP at employeegiving@kingcounty.gov  to have it reset. If it just a minor change you can simply email the change and it will be made.

I don't see my favorite nonprofit organization in here, how do I get them in?

Nonprofits apply every year to the EGP between February and April for that year's Annual Giving Drive.  Email the name of the organization, contact name, mailing address, email address, and phone number of the organization to the EGP Administrator at junelle.kroontje@kingcounty.gov .  Come January when the application process is announced they will be notified that it is opening to be in that year's campaign.  A majority of the new nonprofits in the program every year come from employee referral.

PeopleSoft Q & A

I get paid on the 5th and 20th (MSA) I don't have a PeopleSoft log-in, can I still use My Giving?

No fear!  Everyone has a PeopleSoft Log-in, you just may not know it.  When you are at the PS log-in page follow the instructions to create a password and get logged in.  Your log-in information is the same everytime.  Remember to use ALL CAPS.

I don't have a computer at work, how can I use My Giving?

PeopleSoft can be logged into from anywhere! Your couch or your cubicle. So you can be at most any computer and do online pledging.

When I get there I get an error page that says I need to have cookies installed, how do I fix that?

There is a link that says "Continue to PeopleSoft" click on that link.  If it takes you to the log-in page then no problem, if not call the PS support number on the page.

Pledge Card View Questions

What does the "year" represent?

You will notice when you fill out your online pledge it will say 2011 that is because it refers to the Payroll Deduction year, not the year you filled out the pledge form. Don't worry, your donation isn't a year off.

One of my previous pledge years doesn't look quite right, what's up with that?

This represents PLEDGES and any changes that needed to be made not necessarily actual deductions.  Because of the way the system works if a pledge was started during the middle of the year, if there was a change in a pledge such as starting, stopping or changing, your pledge card probably won't look right to you. It is because of the way the system is designed to recieve information into payroll. In short, call the EGP at 206.263.9405 or email employeegiving@kingcounty.gov  if you have any questions about your pledge forms.

I have written checks in the past and I don't see them here, how do I know who I wrote checks to?

Because My Giving wasn't designed to accept checks by pledging we were unable to provide it in the view back. If you have any questions about your check giving history contact the EGP at 206.263.9405 or employeegiving@kingcounty.gov .  You may still write checks but you will need to do it with a paper-pledge form instead of in My Giving.

Why are some items blank... like my coordinator name in year's past?

In the behind the scenes, if someone was "inactive" they may disappear from your screen.  It doesn't affect your donation.

In the pledge views, it appears I should have qualified for a leadership giving level but it does not indiciate one?

Prior to My Giving we relied on you to tell us your leadership giving level.  If you did not we left it blank and that is what you are seeing. Now with MyGiving it calculates it all for you automatically!
