Awareness campaign
The ethics awareness campaign was created in 2003. Its goals are to:
- raise employee awareness of the Code of Ethics, the Board of Ethics, ethics office, and the resources they provide
- help employees make ethical decisions
- help ensure the public’s trust in King County government
To reach these aims, ethics board and staff conduct annual outreach to department leaders and staff, hold events and activities, and offer a variety of ethics publications with an identity distinctive to county ethics. These awareness initiatives include:
- Annual Leadership Reception and award ceremony hosted and paid for by the Board of Ethics
- On-line ethics quiz and survey to challenge employee knowledge and to seek employee opinions on ethics issues
- Ethics Help Line for employees to ask questions, report concerns and make ethical decisions; calls may be confidential
- Summary of the Code of Ethics; a brochure for board and commission members; and a brochure for consultants and vendors
Order these and other ethics publications with the publications order form or test your own ethics knowledge with the survey-quiz.
