Bruce C. Laing

Bruce Laing served on the Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board from 2003 to 2006. He was elected to the King County Council in 1979 and served in that office through 1995. During his tenure on the King County Council he also served on the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority Board (now Sound Transit), on the Executive Board of the Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), and on the Council of the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (METRO).
Bruce is a charter member, and member of the College of Fellows, American Institute of Certified Planners. He has been a professional urban planner for more than forty years. His planning career includes a wide variety of experiences: Proprietor of a planning and government relations consulting firm, Planner with the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, Planner for a land development firm, Planner for an engineering and planning consulting firm, and King County Zoning & Subdivision Hearing Examiner.
Bruce is a graduate of Seattle University and holds the degree Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington.
