Understanding your W-2 information
The W-2 form you receive from the county includes information about your taxable wages, tax withholding and other information that's reported to the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration.
When you receive your W-2 form for 2010, please review it immediately to verify the accuracy of your name and Social Security number, which should match what’s printed on your Social Security card. If either your name or your Social Security number is incorrect, please contact Payroll Operations as soon as possible and submit a new W-4 form with the correct information so we can credit your earnings correctly to your Social Security account. If your name and Social Security number are correct on your W-2 form, but are different than what appears on your Social Security card, you should contact a Social Security Administration office or call 1-800-772-1213 to ask for a replacement card with the correct information.
