You may also want to refer to your collective bargaining agreement, Section 3.12 of the King County Code and Section 14 of the Personnel Guidelines (intranet link) for information on family and medical leaves of absence available to county employees.
All non-represented employees and most collective bargaining units have adopted the 2005 Personnel Guidelines. If you’re unsure if your union has adopted these updated guidelines, check with your business representative or shop steward. If your union has not adopted the updated guidelines, please refer to the October 2000 Personnel Guidelines.
