King County employees eligible for transportation benefits who live on Vashon Island or the west side of Puget Sound may buy a discounted monthly Kitsap Transit/Washington State Ferries pass. Passes are valid on Kitsap Transit and Washington State Ferries.

Passes are valid for passenger fare on auto ferries only.

Passes are sold on the last three and first two working days of each month by the Licensing Division in Room 403 on the fourth floor of the King County Administration Building, 500 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle, or in Room 102 at the Regional Justice Center, 401 4th Avenue N in Kent.

To verify your pass eligibility or to have the pass mailed to your home and the cost deducted from your paycheck, contact Licensing at 206‑296‑2712.

Ferry rates

King County does not subsidize the ferry portion of the Kitsap Transit/Washington State Ferries pass. Any rate increase by the Washington State Ferries will not be covered by King County and will raise the employee cost of the pass.
