Civil Service CommissionCivil Service Commission responsibilitiesThe King County Civil Service Commission hears appeals from employee disciplinary actions such as removal, suspension, or demotion of civil service employees (employees in the King County Sheriff's Office). The Commission has the authority to uphold or affirm, reverse, or modify the County’s employment action.
King County, under the authority of RCW 41.14.065, has assigned the administration, powers, and duties of the Civil Service Commission to the Human Resource Director except for the power to hear disciplinary appeals.
