Move More: Report Card

Data below is taken from the 2006 - 2009 annual wellness assessment.  On average, 90% of employees and their covered spouces/domestic partners complete the wellness assessment.

Stretching

The Centers for Disease Control don't currently provide recommendations for flexibility and stretching exercises. However, yoga, Tai Chi and flexibility exercises can help prevent injury due to falls, improve balance, and reduce muscle injury from other physical activity.  Improvement in this measure is reflected by fewer people reporting they never participate in flexibility exercises.

StrengthChart

The Centers for Disease Control recommend healthy adults participate in muscle strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week, working all major muscle groups.  Some people tend to split muscle training into different daily workouts (arms/back one day, legs/abdomen another), so improvement in this measure is reflected as more people reporting exercises 3-5 days or 1-2 days a week, and fewer people reporting they never perform muscle strengthening exercises.

Motivation

The Physical Activity Motivation Score is a score determined by the wellness assessment vendor based on participant responses to a number of questions related to physical activity including behavior and willingness to follow recommended guidelines for physical activity.  Higher is better.
