  • Puget Sound Fresh 
    Provides information on local farms, u-pick sites, farmers' markets, and special activities covering 14 counties in the Puget Sound region.
    • Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)  
      Many farms offer produce subscriptions, where buyers receive a weekly or monthly basket of produce, fruits, eggs, milk, coffee, or other farm products. Find a CSA in your area.
    • Farmers' Markets 
      Purchasing locally grown fruits and vegetables from a local famers' market is a fun way to eat smarter. Find a farmers' market close to your home or worksite.
  • The Heart of Washington 
    Get recipes and lists of grocers and restaurants that sell or serve products from Washington farmers.

  • Blue Ribbon Cooking & Culinary Center 
    Provides cooking classes for adults and kids.
  • NuCulinary 
    Discover the secrets of Asian cooking with a hands-on or demonstration cooking class. Held at Uwajimaya and other locations.
  • PCC Cooks  
    Classes for experienced cooks and food-loving novices focused on natural cooking techniques. Held at various PCC Natural Markets locations. 
  • Whole Foods Market Culinary Centers 
    Hands-on cooking classes, tastings, demonstration dinners and workshops. Held at various Whole Foods Market locations.

Gardening Classes and Resources

  • Garden Hotline 
    Experts at the Garden Hotline offer individualized solutions and advise related to garden problems for home gardeners and landscape professionals in King County. The service is free. Call 206-633-0224
  • Gardening in planting strips 
    The City of Seattle’s planting strip policy makes it easier to plant vegetables in the strip between the sidewalk and the street by eliminating permit requirements for gardens and ending fees previously required for hardscape improvements, such as planter boxes or pavers.
  • King County Extension Master Gardener Program 
    Master Gardeners are volunteer horticulture advisors that provide advice and resources to home gardeners. Attend a free gardening workshop, stop by a Plant Clinic or call the Master Gardener hotline to get valuable gardening advice.
  • Seattle Tilth  
    Offers a variety of organic gardening classes and workshops.
  • Yard Talk
    Check out King County’s own natural gardening show that demonstrates how to easily care for yards and gardens in a way that's good for people, pets and the environment.
