Steel cut oats and fruit

Serves 4

Tip: Divide cooked oatmeal into portions and store in the refrigerator. Microwave 1 minute for an easy, healthy, inexpensive breakfast! 

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup dry steel cut oats
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup dried currants, cranberries and/or raisins
  • Dash of salt

Directions:

    1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
    2. Add oats and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.
    3. Add dried fruit(s) and stir well. Continue simmering for 10 minutes.
    4. Add cinnamon and salt & serve.
