Two new individual action plans and more immediate confirmation of status

You’ve received your blue letter with information on how to earn gold for your 2013 medical out-of-pocket expenses. Now, get started and take advantage of programs, including two new individual action plans, which will support your goals for good health.

What’s New!

  • Two New Individual Action Plans that take advantage of local resources - One getting active in our local parks, and one helping people with more than one chronic condition learn the skills to manage their health and health care.

    • King County Parks Big Backyard Fitness Challenge. This new and exciting program has activities for every fitness level. If you’re already active or interested in taking your first hike, this challenge is for you. Enjoy the county park system while completing one of 30 possible activities, plus two recommended training activities, each week for 10 weeks to earn gold. At the end of each activity location, find the unique ID code and enter it on your Get a Challenge Map, which you turn in after completing 10 weeks. Want more information? Check it out!

    • Group Health’s Living Well with Chronic Conditions. Through six 2½-hour, in-person, small-group workshops, you learn how to manage chronic conditions and improve your quality of life one step at a time by setting goals and breaking those goals into small weekly action plans. Two specially trained volunteer facilitators who have personal experience with a chronic condition lead the sessions. You must complete at least 4 of the 6 sessions to earn gold, but you’ll benefit most by being present for all sessions. You do not have to be a Group Health member to participate. Want more details? Read all about it.

  • More immediate confirmation of status with online WebMD individual action plan
    • If you choose the online WebMD individual action plan after completing the wellness assessment by Jan. 31, 2012, you will no longer have to wait for confirmation that you have met your weekly goal and earned gold—you will receive immediate notification on your Healthy Incentives Road to Gold Rewards Page.

    • If you choose one of the non-WebMD individual action plans, you will see a delay in confirmation that you have received gold. Because the other individual action plans are not part of the WebMD program, it takes longer to process your completion and report it on the Healthy Incentives Road to Gold Rewards Page.

How to earn gold?  The rules are the same. Some of the dates have changed.

WebMD online individual action plans. Start a personal health record, create a new exercise routine, track your blood pressure, log what you are currently doing to manage your health . . . WebMD lends itself to many uses.
