Check Up on the Quality of Care you are Receiving

We all benefit from making more informed decisions about our health care. The Puget Sound Health Alliance produces one of the most valuable resources for finding quality health care in the region and it is available free to county employees and the public.

The Community Checkup reports the percent of time hospitals and medical groups do what research says works best for certain conditions.  You can use it to check the care you are getting or find care that you need. Use it to see if you are getting the care that is proven most effective for diabetes, heart disease, depression, low back pain and many other conditions. Use it to find out how your medical group or hospital rates for delivering quality care. If you have been diagnosed with a low back pain, depression, diabetes, heart disease or any of the other conditions in the report, use it to find a provider that gets high quality scores in the report.

One of the first things you will notice upon visiting the Community Checkup is the huge variation of care in our region. Though research has proven that certain courses of treatment are most effective for specific conditions, these treatments are not being universally delivered throughout our region, or even our country. This means you could be paying for health care that does not make you well.

See how the health care you receive stacks up against the evidence. Visit the Community Checkup report.

The report reflects current data and shows results for 47 medical groups and more than 170 clinic locations. It also includes measures and results for 30 hospitals in the five counties, making the Community Checkup report the one place to go to get information about care delivered at both clinics and hospitals.
