Getting a Weight Watchers meeting series started is easy. The following outlines the step-by-step process of how to get a meeting series started at a King County worksite.

  1. Identify a meeting organizer(s). Because you are reading this, you are probably the meeting organizer. Feel free, however, to invite another co-worker to help you coordinate and champion the Weight Watchers meetings.

      Can I organize meetings on county time?

      King County supports onsite weight management meetings at King County worksites. Your official duties as a meeting organizer are to be considered paid King County work time. In all cases you should coordinate and gain prior approval of the management of your department, division, section or unit before assuming duties as a meeting organizer. You must attend meetings on your own time.

      Can I make posters for meetings using county property?

      If you have been approved by your department, division, section, or unit, as a meeting organizer you can use county property to make posters for meetings and your time will be considered paid King County work time.

      Can I use county email to send meeting notices and reminders?

      Yes, you can use county email to send meeting notices and reminders. Additionally you can create and send the notices on official King County time. However, in order to ensure regular mission accomplishment you should coordinate your duties to meet the business requirements of your section

    • Logistical issues. If you need assistance with logistical issues, such as reserving a conference room or getting in touch with Weight Watchers, the Health Matters team may be able to assist you.
    • Promoting your program. Once you’ve determined the date, time, and location for your informational meeting, the Health Matters team can update the Focus on Employees Web site to help spread the word. The same is true for your meeting series. Once you’ve determined the day and time, and location of your meeting series, the Health Matters team can include the information in their regular communications about the King County Weight Watchers At Work program to help you recruit new members.
    • Promotional materials. The Health Matters team created email and poster templates that you can use
