How to Earn Points Team PointsThe Team Points total is an average for your team. It is calculated by dividing the total of number of individual points per team by the number of team members. This allows teams of differing sizes to compete fairly. Individual Points There are a total of 1650 possible points per person for the Live Well Challenge. You can earn points in several different categories. Here are some hints on how to earn points: Focus Area Points
You can earn up to 500 points (50 points per week) for activities within your focus area (Eat Smart or Move More). To earn these points, you simply need to complete the minimum logging requirement for your selected focus area. Be sure to record your activity for each day even if it is zero. - Eat Smart - You must record your consumption of fruits, vegetables and grains on at least 5 out of 7 days each week.
- Move More - You must record your aerobic activity and muscle strengthening activities for at least 5 out of 7 days each week.
Challenge Points
You can earn up to 1000 points (100 points per week) for meeting the national recommendations in your selected focus area. - Eat Smart - Eat at least 2 cups of fruit, 2½ cups of vegetables and 6 ounce equivalents of grains on the same day. Each week you will receive 60 Challenge Points for meeting all three recommendations on 5 out of 7 days and 20 Challenge Points for each additional day that you meet the recommendations.
- Move More - Each week, you will receive 40 Challenge Points for getting at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity for the week. You can also earn 40 Challenge Points for participating in a muscle strengthening activity on at least 2 out of 7 days of each week. If you get at least 300 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 150 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity for the week you will earn an additional 20 Challenge Points.
Extra Credit Points You can earn a total of 100 points (10 points per week) for completing Extra Credit activities. This category provides participants with an extra opportunity to challenge themselves with activities such as taking a cooking class, participating in an organized physical activity event, or starting a Personal Health Record. You cannot get credit for the same activity more than once. So be sure to try something new each week. Here is a list of Extra Credit activities for which you can earn points. Quiz Points You can earn a total of 50 points (10 points per quiz) for each quiz you complete. A total of five quizzes are available during the Live Well Challenge. Each quiz consists of several questions related to nutrition, physical activity or other health topics.
