Healthy Workplace Funding Initiative (HWFI) expenditures are governed by the following criteria:
Expenditures
Must be for the purpose of encouraging or facilitating healthy eating (Eat Smart), physical activity (Move More) or stress management (Stress Less) in the workplace or during the work day;
Must be the result of a process involving management and employees;
Must be for goods, services or programs that benefit the greatest number of workplace employees;
Must be within HWFI funding limits;
Must be accomplished in accordance with King County approved policies and procedures for the procurements of goods and services; (take out the and)
Must be marked or acknowledged in the workplace as goods or services provided through the HWFI.
Must be used for the calendar year for which the proposal was submitted; funds are not eligible for carry over.
Consumable items must be consumed at the work place. .
Equipment purchased remains the property of King County.
Approval:
Applications are submitted to the manager of Executive Audit Services who is charged with determining that proposed expenditures meet the above criteria. Any applications in question are reviewed by a Steering Committee comprised of county departmental representatives including Facilities, Risk Management, Public Health, PAO’s office, and Procurement and the Health Reform Initiative staff.
