Skill Assessments The Skill Assessment is a two-hour meeting between you and your Career Support Services representative to learn about the Referral and Placement Program and to gather additional information about your knowledge, skills and abilities, work history, job duties, training, education and employment interests. You will receive assistance in updating your King County job application and resume. Current job openings, if available, for which you qualify are discussed and next steps are outlined.

At the initial meeting with Career Support Services, staff will:
- Explain the services available and how they will be provided;
- Outline employee expectations;
- Describe your rights and responsibilities;
- Review and discuss your completed application materials (King County application and resume);
- Gather additional information about your knowledge, skills and abilities, work history, job duties, training, education and employment interests;
- Assist you in completing or revising your application materials;
- Review and discuss any current job openings, if available, for which you may qualify;
- Answer any questions you may have; and,
- Discuss next steps.
