Tutorials

Available at the Career Resource Center are software tutorials to help you learn new or enhance your technical skills. Tutorials offer a gradual approach to learning, so they can be helpful to people at many different skill levels. Some software tutorials provide testing features to ensure comprehension of the material, while others may be simple walkthroughs of a software program. Tutorials are written for basic, intermediate, and advanced users and are designed to ensure the user is following along and comprehending the material.

Computers in the Career Resource Center are equipped with Mavis Beacon Teaches Microsoft Office 2003 and Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing tutorials. Both are interactive, allow you to progress at your own pace and each Office 2003 module has a test to determine your beginning and ending proficiency level. The typing tutorial has more than 100 interactive practice lessons designed to entertain and improve your typing skills.

We also have one licensed copy of Professer Teaches Microsoft Office 2003 & 2007 and Microsoft Office 2003 Step-by-Step for Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Microsoft Office Step-by-Step is self paced however does not provide the same level of interactive graphics as the other tutorials.

Please feel free to stop by and visit the Career Resource Center to hone your software skills.
