Voting by mail in King County

  • King County votes by mail, which means that you'll receive your ballot and voters' pamphlet through the mail.  To help make sure you receive your ballot, keep your address up to date with King County Elections.
  • Watch for your ballot in the mail - if you don't receive it within 10 days of Election Day, contact the Elections Office.
  • Return your ballot through the U.S. Postal Service, using a first class stamp, or at a ballot drop box. Drop box locations are listed in the voters' pamphlet and online.
  • Vote and return your ballot early - you'll avoid any Election Day crowds and your votes will be included in Election Night results
  • If you never received your ballot or need a new one for some reason, don't wait until the last minute to contact the Elections Department - there can be long lines on Election Day.
