Nov. 17, 2010 Message from elections director regarding voter signature issues
King County will certify the 2010 General Election on Nov. 23. Voters who returned ballots that had signature issues have through Nov. 22 to get them resolved.
Sherril Huff, director of elections, has issued a special message to voters who may be contacted by someone other than the Elections Department about this matter.
“Voters who had a signature issue associated with their ballots have been contacted by the Elections Department and we encourage them to follow up if they have not already done so. These voters may also be contacted by representatives from other organizations that want to encourage them to resolve their signature problem so that their votes will be processed as part of this election. The list of voters who have signature issues is a matter of public record and this is not an uncommon practice. Voters should contact the Elections Department at 206-296-VOTE (8683) if they have any questions or to follow up on a specific signature matter.”
