King County Dist. 41 recount results certified
Steve Litzow retains lead
King County Elections this afternoon certified the results of the machine recount of the District 41 State Senator race between Steve Litzow and Randy Gordon. Litzow retained his lead and final results give him a 192 vote advantage. Official recount results will be posted by 5 p.m. on the King County Elections website.
"This wraps up the year with another very successful election," said Sherril Huff, Elections Director. "King County conducted four elections this year, concluding each one with zero discrepancies while experiencing record 'vote by mail' turnouts!"
Gordon received an additional two votes through the recount, which did not alter the outcome of the race. This was the only recount for King County Elections following the General Election.
Now is a good time to register to vote and for voters to update their registration in preparation for 2011. If you have changed your name or address, or would like to register, visit the King County Elections website or call 206-296-VOTE (8683). The next election will be the February 8, 2011 special election.
