Sept. 10, 2009 King County Elections certifies machine recount
The King County Canvassing Board unanimously certified the two mandatory machine recounts in the City of Woodinville Council Position No. 7 and Kent School District No. 415, Director District No. 5 races.
“The new technology we’re invested in has streamlined the whole recount process,” said Elections’ Director Sherril Huff.
Certified results are now available online. There was one discrepancy between the original and recount results, a write in vote that was originally counted as a blank vote. The results of the recount did not alter the votes cast for each of the candidates.
