To meet the statutory requirements regarding the canvassing of election ballots and to accommodate members' schedules as much as possible, the following meetings of the Canvassing Board are:

Pre-Election Meeting:  Review any special-case mail ballots received.  Make determination regarding issues of voters’ intent.

First Post-Election Meeting:  Review unofficial results.  Resolve any special-case ballots and issues of voters’ intent requiring Board’s determination.  Consider voter registration challenges submitted within thirty-day period prior to the election and issues of voters’ intent.

Certification Meeting:  Review Director’s Abstract of Votes; approve corrective action for discrepancies or errors resulting from abstract review, if any.  Sign the certificate.

The logic and accuracy test for all polling place vote counting equipment will begin at 8:30 a.m., October 14, 2008, at the Election Distribution Center (EDC) located at 1215 East Fir Street in Seattle."

The logic and accuracy test for vote counting equipment will take place at 10:30 a.m. October 31st, 2008, at King County Elections located at 919 SW Grady Way, Renton, 98057.

The public is invited to attend all canvassing board meetings and the logic and accuracy tests.
