Based on a canvass of the returns for precinct committee officers races held on August 19, 2008, three races resulted in a tie vote between two candidates. In accordance with RCW 29A.64.021, a mandatory recount is required. Election officials will begin the manual recount promptly at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept.15 for the following precinct committee officer races:
- ANGELO- Republican (Bryan Copley & Chris E. Brown)
- FED 30-3289 - Republican (Michael A. Thompson & Terrance R. Thomas)
- TUK 11-2952 - Democratic (JoAnn Shyne & Patricia Taylor)
Also scheduled for Sept.15, the Canvassing Board will meet at 1 p.m. to certify the results of the three recounts and perform tie breaking for the 125 write-in PCO races that are tied. For a list of these precincts, click here.
Final precinct committee officer (PCO) results will be posted to the Web by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16 on this page as well as the results page.
