Canvass board schedule - February 9, 2010 special election

To meet the statutory requirements regarding the canvassing of election ballots and to accommodate members' schedules as much as possible, the following meetings of the Canvassing Board are:

9:00 a.m. Updated	Wednesday	January 6, 2010 King County Elections Media Room Via Teleconference	Special Meeting: This meeting is to discuss and respond to the OSOS Election Report.
9:30 a.m.	Friday	January 22, 2010 King County Elections	Convening Meeting: Review canvassing procedures as necessary, provide instructions regarding mail ballots. Commence processing mail ballots received.
1:30 p.m.	Thursday	February 4, 2010 King County Elections	Pre-Election Meeting: Review any special-case mail ballots received. Make determination regarding issues of voters’ intent.
1:30 p.m.	Thursday	February 11, 2010 King County Elections	First Post-Election Meeting: Review preliminary abstract of votes. Resolve any special-case ballots and issues of voter intent requiring Board’s determination. Consider voter registration challenges submitted within 30-day period prior to the election and issues of voter intent.
~~1:30 p.m.~~ Cancelled	Tuesday	February 16, 2010 King County Elections	Second Post-Election Meeting: Review provisional ballots and any special-case mail ballots received subsequent to the election. Make determination regarding issues of voter intent.
1:30 p.m.	Tuesday	February 23, 2010 King County Elections	Final Post-Election Meeting: Complete the canvassing process; review the Director’s Abstract of Votes for validity, and direct preparation of election certificate.
9:30 a.m.	Wednesday	February 24, 2010 King County Elections	Certification Meeting: Approve corrective action for discrepancies or errors resulting from abstract review, if any. Sign the certificate.

The logic and accuracy test for accessible voting units will take place at 10:00 a.m. on January 19, 2010 (1st floor north) at King County Elections located at 9010 E. Marginal Way S, Tukwila WA 98108.

The logic and accuracy test for vote counting equipment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on January 28, 2010 (1st floor south), at King County Elections located at 9010 E. Marginal Way S, Tukwila WA 98108.

The public is invited to attend all canvassing board meetings and the logic and accuracy tests.
