Metro to deliver customized shuttle service to meet needs of North Bend, Snoqualmie and Issaquah
King County Metro will provide new shuttle service for commuters in North Bend, Snoqualmie and Issaquah Highlands thanks to a community partnership. It’s an example of Executive Constantine’s effort to offer alternatives to fixed bus-route service, such as shuttles, rideshares, community vans and bicycles, to improve regional mobility.

Seattle and King County receive record $28 million in federal homeless assistance grants
A record $28 million in federal homeless assistance funds was awarded to Seattle and King County, including $3.6 million to create new housing opportunities across the region. The funding comes just days after the annual One Night Count found a 21 percent increase over the number of homeless counted last year.

Record-breaking bond refinance yields biggest savings in King County history
Thanks in large part to King County’s excellent credit ratings, the Wastewater Treatment Division will save $160 million over the next 33 years after a bond refinance. The savings come after Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s cited WTD's strong management practices and consistent financial performance.

King County Civil Rights Commission honors three student essay winners
Three students from Open Window School in Bellevue took top marks in the 16th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Writing Contest, which encourages students to think critically about Dr. King's legacy of peace and justice. The contest was open to all 8th grade students in public and private schools in King County.

More convenient, more reliable, less crowded: Major boost coming for bus service in Seattle
Executive Constantine and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray took formal steps to add 200,000 hours of bus service each year in Seattle. Voters in Seattle approved a funding initiative in 2014 that was made possible by a program Executive Constantine created, allowing cities to purchase service from Metro Transit.

New smartphone app makes it easy to plan trips on buses, rail, ferries and water taxis
