17 Year Old Male Arrested for the Killing of 17 Year Old Female

Summary-(Burien, King County WA) (C16022638)

A 17yoa B/M is under arrest and has been booked into the Youth Services Center for investigation of Murder in the shooting death of a 17yoa B/F.  The incident occurred just before 11pm on May 4th, 2016 in Burien, Washington.

Story- On May 4th, 2016, at around 1055pm, the King County Sheriff’s 911 Communications Center received multiple calls of a shooting that had just occurred at the Spring Creek Apartments located at 615 SW Ambaum Boulevard in Burien, WA.  Witnesses reported hearing one shot, followed shortly by two others, and could see a female lying motionless in the common hallway to one of the apartment buildings.

Callers also reported that just prior to hearing the gunshots, they heard the sound of a verbal argument between a male and female out in the same hallway where the shooting occurred.  At least one caller also reported seeing someone they described as a B/M, in his late teens to early twenties, wearing a red jacket, gray sweatpants and white shoes, running from the scene after the sounds of the shots.

Burien Deputies arrived within three minutes of the first call and found the 17yoa, female, victim, lying in the hallway with a single gunshot wound.  Burien Fire Medics pronounced the victim dead, shortly after they arrived on scene.

A search by Deputies, King County Sheriff K9 teams, as well as Guardian One was conducted, but a suspect was not immediately located.

King County Sheriff’s Major Crimes detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident.  Once there, they began searching for evidence in and around the apartment complex, and also began interviewing the original callers and other possible witnesses that were still on-scene.

After interviewing multiple witnesses and collecting some evidence at the scene, Major Crimes Detectives were able to establish probable cause to arrest a 17yoa B/M who was at the scene and had been talking and cooperating with them.

The suspect was booked into the Youth Services Center in Seattle for investigation of murder.

It is believed that the victim and suspect knew each other, but the extent of their relationship is not known at this time.

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released as both are Juveniles.
