Homeowner shoots assault suspect inside his house.  Suspect then calls police.

Carnation: A man in his 50’s is under arrest after being shot while inside a home in Unincorporated King County, near Carnation.  A homeowner in his 70’s, shot the man after he came into his house and began to assault his 65 yoa, male roommate.

On 07/20/15, Deputies responded to the 9400 block of Carnation-Duvall RD NE, after a homeowner called to report he had just shot at a man whom had come into his home and began to assault his roommate.  The homeowner reported that he had shot at the man 5 times with a 9mm, but was not sure if he had actually hit the person.  He stated that the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle.

After Deputies arrived, they could see that the 65 yoa man had visible injuries to his face that were later treated at a hospital.  Deputies were able to quickly determine that the suspect was known to the homeowner and assault victim and that this was not a random attack.  The man had lived on the property in the past and there was some history of violence between the parties.

About 15 minutes into their investigation at that scene, other Deputies responded to a call 10 miles away, in the 33600 Blk of Redmond-Fall City RD of a man who called to report he had been shot.  When deputies arrived and began to question him, it was determined he was the known assault suspect from the house.  The man was transported to Harborview with 2 non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the shoulder and upper torso.

Once released from the hospital the man who was shot will be booked into King County Jail for investigation of Assault.  At this time, no charges have been filed against the homeowner who shot the suspect.  Detectives from the King County Sheriffs Major Crimes Unit are still investigating.
