Suspicious activity reporting

Suspicious activity reporting

Preventing terrorism and crime in general is a community effort.  The Sheriff's Office cannot do this alone and needs everyone's help.  By learning what to look for, you can make a positive contribution towards making our community a safer place to live.  The partnership between the community and the Sheriff's Office is essential to the success of these efforts.

Some suspicious activities, taken individually, could be innocent and should be examined by law enforcement professionals in a larger context to determine whether there is a basis to investigate.

What can you do?

  • Report vehicles parked in unusual places to law enforcement authorities (i.e. water treatment plants, power plants, electrical switching stations, etc.)
  • Watch for people and behaviors that seem out of place.
  • Make note of suspicious statements, individuals, and/or vehicles.
  • If something seems wrong to you, it may very well be.  Don't hesitate, notify us if you feel something is wrong.
In an emergency or life threatening situation, always call 9-1-1
