Competency Evaluation for Defendant in Seattle Knife Attack:  A judge this morning ordered a pretrial competency evaluation for a 27-year-old woman who is accused in an unprovoked knife attack on a stranger on March 17 in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. The defendant, Angelique Jones, is charged with Assault in the First Degree and Attempted Robbery in the First Degree in the alleged stabbing of a woman who was walking home from a grocery store. Today’s arraignment was postponed while the defendant undergoes a mental evaluation to determine her competency to stand trial. A competency hearing is scheduled for April 21 at 9 a.m. in courtroom 1201 of the King County Courthouse. The defendant's bail is set at $750,000.
