Sentencing in Fatal Collision in West Seattle: A 44-year-old Seattle man was sentenced on July 25 to 13 years in prison for causing a fatal collision in West Seattle on July 27, 2013. The defendant, William Kelly Edmon, pled guilty in May to charges of Vehicular Homicide and Reckless Endangerment. Edmon drove a Chevy pickup truck through a red light and collided with a Honda CRV. The pickup truck rolled over and a man who was riding in the bed of the truck was ejected and killed. Edmon was driving in a reckless manner and while under the influence of alcohol when the collision occurred. The 13-year sentence includes three one-year DUI enhancements based on the defendant’s prior DUI-related offenses. The sentencing was before Judge Carol Schapira. The case was handled by Senior DPA Amy Freedheim.
