Sentencing in Federal Way vehicular homicide: A Federal Way man was sentenced this afternoon to 6 ½ years in prison for a collision that killed a man who was a passenger in his car. The defendant, Jeffrey Waterfall, 56, pled guilty last month to Vehicular Homicide. He was under the influence of alcohol when his car collided with a utility pole on December 23, 2013 in Federal Way. Kurtis D. Nevin, 52, was killed in the collision. Waterfall faced a sentence range of 6 ½ to 8 ½ years in prison. He was sentenced before Judge Susan Amini at the Maleng Regional Justice Center. Senior DPA Amy Freedheim handled the case.
