Sentencing in 2011 Kirkland Murder

Summary

Story

Sentencing in 2011 Kirkland murder: Former JBLM soldier Dakota Wolf was sentenced this afternoon to 20 years in prison for the murder of Scarlett Paxton. The defendant fatally stabbed Paxton, 19, outside her Kirkland apartment in November 2011. Wolf pled guilty earlier this month to a charge of Murder in the Second Degree with a deadly weapon enhancement. The sentence range, which included the two-year deadly weapon enhancement, was 12 to 20 years in prison. The prosecution and defense made an agreed recommendation for a top of the range sentence of 20 years in prison. Wolf, 22, was sentenced before Judge Julie Spector at the King County Courthouse. The case was handled by Senior DPA John Castleton.
