Strategic Planning
Strategic Planning is an ongoing process for King County government. It is an important aspect of our management approach, informs our business planning, and helps decision-makers and the public understand where we’re going, how we are going to get there, and what we plan to achieve when we arrive.
King County Strategic Plan
The King County Strategic Plan was first adopted in 2010. Most recently, the County's Vision, Mission, Guiding Principles and Goals were updated in 2015, and the Performance and Strategy Section is leading the development of more specific objectives and measures that will show how well the County is achieving each of its goals.
Strategic Plans for Agencies and Initiatives
King County agencies and cross-functional teams conduct strategic planning to address their challenges and achieve their goals. Some examples of these plans include:
- Equity and Social Justice Strategic Plan
- Strategic Climate Action Plan
