Public Health Budget Issues:

Public Health’s proposed 2015/2016 budget includes significant changes to services.  Detailed information for changes to those programs and the anticipated impacts can be found here:

Family Planning  The Family Planning Program at Public Health - Seattle & King County works to decrease teen pregnancy, unintended pregnancy, and STDs in King County, contributing to poverty reduction in the region.
 
Maternity Support Services  Maternity Support Services provides social, emotional and physical support to Medicaid-eligible expectant and new mothers at a critical time, laying the groundwork for long-term health.

  
Nurse Family Partnership  Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is a community health program that helps transform the lives of young, low-income mothers pregnant with their first child.

 
Prevention Programs  Prevention includes foundational public health services to protect the public from infectious and chronic diseases and injury prevention. Prevention also includes medical examiner services. 

 
Primary Care  Public Health’s Primary Care program provides accessible health-care services to under and uninsured King County residents
