Saturday, March 22 -- World Water Day Celebration, 10a.m. - 1p.m.

Come celebrate World Water Day 2014 with IslandWood and King County at Brightwater Center! Discover how people across the globe use water to do everything from cook dinner to create electricity, and what those actions mean for the planet. We’ll have activities for all ages including art projects, outdoor exploration, and science experiments to help us learn more about the world of water.

Friday, March 28 -- FrogWatch USA Citizen Science Workshop, noon - 5p.m.

Join the experts from FrogWatch USA to learn how you can volunteer to take part in a nation-wide citizen research project to help protect and conserve our local amphibian populations. You are invited to attend this workshop to learn more about how to get involved. It is available at NO COST to you through the support of a National Science Foundation grant. This workshop includes a healthful lunch and is suited for adults or older youth with an interest in amphibians, science and research.

Friday, April 4 -- Amorous Amphibians Night Hike, 6:30p.m. - 8:30p.m.

Participants will learn about native frogs, their calls and habits in an engaging indoor presentation and then head outdoors at dusk to hunt for breeding frogs, toads, salamanders, newts and their eggs in our frog-filled wetland. This event is great for ages six years and up. Adults without children are encouraged to attend too.
