Brightwater Center’s ‘Ecotober’ celebration begins Oct. 5

Fall begins at Brightwater Center with “Ecotober”, a month-long sustainability series with events that highlight fun and learning for the whole family.

Brightwater Center is located at 22505 State Route 9 S.E. in Woodinville.

Ecotober is sponsored by King County Wastewater Treatment Division, IslandWood, 4Culture, and Bothell Cool. Events are free and children accompanied by an adult are welcome.

Kick-Off Celebration, Saturday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ecotober kicks off with a day of live music, art, tours, speakers and all-ages fun. Dig in a worm-bin, create art out of recycled materials, learn from experts about building rain gardens, or just sit and enjoy some music from Seattle’s greenest blue grass band! Seasonal Edible Garden Workshops, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Recycling: An Insider’s Look! Wednesday, Oct. 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Get an up-close look at the Cascade Recycling Center through a guided tour. Meet at the Cascade Recycling Center, 14020 N.E. 190th St., Woodinville. Register online at http://www.bwecotober.eventbrite.com/. (Ages 12 and up)

Eco Movie Night, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Ask the Experts, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
