Brightwater open house features family fun, educational activities, Sept. 29

King County is hosting an open house at Brightwater on Sat., Sept. 29.

Story

People are invited to an open house at the Brightwater Center on Saturday to learn about the features of this new clean-water facility through treatment plant tours, education exhibits, film and nature walks.

The event is free to the public and children accompanied by an adult are welcome.

Activities include guided nature walks through Brightwater’s forest and wetland areas, two screenings of the environmental documentary “Addicted to Plastic”, and treatment plant tours. People can also bring unwanted electronic equipment such as computers and cell phones for recycling.

Pre-registration is required for the treatment plant tours. Children must be at least 9 years old to participate, and sturdy close-toed shoes are required. To register online, please visit:
